Historically, people took their animals to kennels before going on vacation.  These facilities often have concrete floors and chainlink fences and can feel cold and harsh.  At Pawsh Pet Resort & Spa we have upscale beds and comfy cots, LCD flat screen televisions, relaxing music played at rest time, over ¼ acre outside play area, playtime with humans and other friendly dogs, special events and more…What more could a dog want?

All animals brought in for grooming must have the Rabies Vaccine.  The law does not require them to have Distemper or Bordetella, but we highly recommend both vaccines.  We are not responsible for kennel cough.  Dogs that do not have distemper or bordetella vaccines will not be allowed in the daycare or boarding areas.

Bordetella is a medicine that MAY protect against kennel cough.  Kennel cough has many different virus strands, similar to the human flu virus.  Your animal may get kennel cough while boarding at our or any other facility, even with the highly recommended bordetella vaccine (Information sheet provided under forms).

You must bring a collar, leash and food.  If preferred, our all natural food is available for purchase.  However, please note that if dog food is switched it is highly recommended that you mix it with current dog food for at least one week or use the holistic transition formula on the new dog food to prevent vomiting, upset stomach, or diarrhea.

You are welcome to bring personal items such as beds, blankets, toys, and treats.  All personal items must be labeled with your pet’s name and machine washable.  But No Rawhides Allowed!!

Food should be put in Ziploc baggies and proportioned for each feeding.  If your pet should run out of food we do have dog food for purchase!

A minimum of 48 hours advance notice or there will be a charge of $50.00.

Cancellation of holiday reservations require a one week notice in order to avoid the $50.00 charge.

Yes.  We do not charge for doggy daycare with boarding services.

The pets will be fed once in the morning and once in the evening in the comfort of their suites/condos unless otherwise directed by owner.  Dogs will have access to water at all times.  Food and treats are not allowed in the daycare area for safety reasons, but water will always be available.

Daycare is included with our boarding guests.

The rate for the second and third dog from the same family in the same suite is discounted 30%.

There are many benefits of doggy daycare, which include housebreaking, socialization, separation anxiety, exercise, and more (see Benefits of Doggy Daycare).

No.  All boarding guests will be out during our business hours and again from 5-9 pm.   We do not offer daycare only on weekends however boarding dogs who have paid for daycare with their stay still get plenty of playtime.

Pawsh Pet takes into account the personality of each guest.  Shy or timid dogs are introduced slowly starting in a non-group area that parallels the main play area.  This allows your pet to adjust to the activity at their own pace.  As your dog begins making friends through the fence, they will be introduced to each other one at a time.  The time that this process takes varies for each dog. Those showing high interest in playing with others from the start could even skip this step.

Our small dogs play in a small dog group unless owner wants them in our large group outside.  Daycare groups are based on temperament not size except our small dogs under 20 lbs.

Our staff will be here from 6:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and one staff will come between 8:30 and 10 pm to let our dogs out to potty and give fresh water Monday through Friday.  Over the weekend staff will be at the facility from 8:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  In addition, the manager is able to supervise the animals with a monitor during the times we are closed.

Our policy states that if a dog is bitten, the owner of the dog who inflicted the bite will be responsible for all veterinary costs.  We are not held responsible for any biting injuries.  We will evaluate the dog before their stay with us and if there is any question regarding aggressive behaviors we will not allow that dog to stay.  Pawsh Pet cannot guarantee against accidents and cannot be liable for loss or damage by or to animals in the facility.  Putting dogs in doggy daycare is at the owners risk!

Doggy daycare can help a dog become social but  every dog is different and there are some cases where they are referred to a trainer.  We do have a trainer on staff that can work with you and your animal one-on-one to correct this behavior.   We recommend that all adult dogs that are thought or known to be non-social be evaluated first by our in-house trainer so we can determine if daycare or training would be the most appropriate for the pet.  Some dogs (especially those over 3 years of age) may never become social with other animals.  They may simply prefer to be by themselves or with their owner.

For the safety of your animal, as well as the others in our care, it is necessary for us to have the completed enrollment forms when dropping off your pet or submitted to Pawsh Pet prior to his/her first visit to our facility.  This allows us to have critical background information about our guests in order to best prepare for their visit and it enables us to ensure your pet has the required vaccination records.  All forms are available on our website or at our location and can be faxed to 407-654-7290.

If your animal becomes ill, we will try to contact both you and your emergency contact first.  If not reached, Pawsh Pet will take your pet to our preferred veterinarian or emergency clinic.  The owner of the animal is responsible for all costs incurred.  If the owner requests the animal be taken to their veterinarian only, we can do that as long as it is within 10 miles of the facility.

Pet sitting is a better option for families with multiple animals such as horses, lizards, birds, fish etc.  It is also better with animals that are aggressive to other animals but not to humans.  We cannot pet sit an animal that is aggressive toward humans.

Yes and it is at the owner’s expense. Dogs often behave differently when boarding than when at home and can get dirty by playing with other dogs, digging or romping outside, or even having accidents in their suites.  We want your pet looking and smelling clean and fresh for you when you take them home.  Therefore, we do require all dogs boarding more than 5 nights, as well as any dog staying for any length of time who soils itself or becomes dirty through playing, to have a bath at the owner’s expense prior to going home.

No.  We have separate areas for cats and dogs.

No.  Only animals from the same family are kept in the same room.

Pawsh Pet does not allow pick up after 6:00 p.m. weekdays or hours stated on weekends.  All Holidays have same hours as weekends for drop off and pick up.

We require a 24 hour notice of an early pick-up or a $25.00 fee will be added to your boarding fees.  Your communication enables us to accommodate other clients.

Pawsh Pet is located in a state prone to hurricanes, we have a hurricane protocol that is in effect during the months of June through November.  We will accept pets until a hurricane warning has been issued.  Once that occurs, and if a Category 3, 4, or 5 hurricane is predicted to make landfall in the Orlando, Winter Garden, Clermont, or Oakland area, Pawsh Pet Resort & Spa WILL evacuate all employees and pets at least one day prior to estimated landfall.

This means all pets must be picked up by their owners or emergency contacts at least one day prior to estimated landfall.  ANY PETS NOT PICKED UP BY THEIR OWNERS OR EMERGENCY CONTACTS WILL BE CHARGED $250.00 PLUS BOARDING RATES AT PAWSH PET!

For category 1 or 2 hurricanes, we will make the decision  based on recommendations of local authorities and contact all owners and emergency contacts.  If no one is able to do so, we will do everything in our power to accommodate them for as long as it is safe to have staff remain in the building.  There is a possibility that your pet may be left unattended for a period of time if conditions warrant and our staff is unable to re-enter the building, Pawsh Pet Resort & Spa will not be held responsible or liable for any injury to any pet or loss of life while boarding during a hurricane!
